Please
don't take your book to market if you haven't developed a marketing
plan. Lay it out:
- define your target audience (visualize specific individuals
you foresee purchasing the book)
- identify where and how your target audience receives
information and develop a marketing plan to access those venues
and media
- make a list of specific organizations that reach your target
markets and that might host a book signing or speaking engagement
- develop promotional materials - sales sheet, bio, web page,
post cards and book marks
- write an enticing book description
- determine ideal outlets for selling your book (internet
retailers, your web site, independent book stores, speaking
engagements, etc.)
